Founder & Managing Director
Mr. Kunal Godambe, the dedicated founder and managing director of GreenShift Energy Pvt. Ltd., has been a pioneer in the sustainable technology sector for over a decade.
His journey, which commenced in 2008, has been characterized by a resolute commitment to sustainability and innovative solutions, initially focusing on green technologies, renewable energy, and biofuels.
In 2019, he took the visionary step of establishing GreenShift Energy, a forward-thinking Mumbai-based startup dedicated to pioneering novel sustainability and waste-to-wealth technologies. Under Mr. Godambe's inspiring leadership, GreenShift Energy Pvt. Ltd. marked significant achievements like forming associations with esteemed organizations such as the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India in 2021, SMILE, An BMC ( Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) initiative in 2022.
Under his guidance, GreenShift Energy Pvt. Ltd.'s passionate team is collectively committed to fostering a greener and more sustainable future, where renewable energy and responsible waste management are not just aspirations but tangible, game-changing realities.
Director R & D - Chief Scientific Advisor
Dr. Saurabh Patankar is at the helm of a diverse research team dedicated to exploring strategies for the valorization of both renewable and non-renewable industrial waste streams. His team employs a systems perspective, ensuring a holistic understanding of waste management and transformation for a sector under consideration.
Dr Saurabh Patankar is a PhD (Tech) in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. He was a Queen Elizabeth Scholar and Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada for three years.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at BITS Pilani- K K Birla Goa Campus, Goa. He conducts applied research in the area of waste management and translates the inventions into innovations in his role as Director of R&D at GreenShift Energy Pvt. Ltd. He helps scrutinize waste streams comprehensively, pinpointing separable components that can be valorized with minimal environmental impact. Dr. Patankar's leadership and the organization’s vision underscore the commitment of GreenShift Energy Pvt. Ltd. to sustainable waste management practices that are both economically viable and environmentally responsible.
Director HR & Administration
Dakshata Godambe brings over a decade of expertise in HR and Administration, with a substantial background in navigating the dynamic landscape of startups, her professional experience boasts an impressive history of accomplishments.
Proficient in team management and leadership, they excel in ensuring seamless operations and actively contribute to organizational growth.
Having hands-on involvement in both well-established corporations and entrepreneurial ventures has endowed her with a versatile skill set, enabling success in diverse settings.

Director Projects
Dr. Sonal Ayakar, Director at GreenShift Energy, brings over a decade of expertise in microbiome research, synthetic biology and bioprocess innovation. With a strong foundation in research, teaching, and applied innovation, she has contributed extensively to advancing biomanufacturing and bioprocessing technologies.
She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, where she specialized in microbiome-led research for nutraceutical development, active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing using synthetic biology, and fermentation process optimization. Over the course of her career, she has played a pivotal role in scaling laboratory innovations into commercially viable technologies, ensuring that research outcomes translate into real-world impact.
Senior Scientist
Dr. Shubhada Gad is a Senior Scientist in the Biotechnology division at GreenShift Energy Pvt. Ltd. and leads R&D initiatives focused on harnessing microbial solutions and enzyme technologies for sustainable waste management and resource recovery. Her work bridges fundamental Biotechnology with practical applications, with a strong emphasis on developing tailored microbial consortia for complex waste streams.
Dr. Gad holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Over the years, she has worked on building microbial consortia for agricultural waste valorization, producing hydrolytic enzyme cocktail for biomass saccharification, and designing innovative bioprocess for organic waste valorization with zero-waste recovery approach.
Her work bridges lab-scale innovations with practical, field-ready applications that support GreenShift’s commitment to delivering practical and sustainable technologies for a circular bioeconomy.
